If you’re looking for a superb Wi-Fi analyzer to help your internet connection, check out inSSIDer. InSSIDer analyzes and displays information about wireless connections in your proximity, including encryption type, MAC addresses, access points, channel, and signal strength. When you’re experiencing slow Internet speed while trying to do your work or browse the web, inSSIDer makes it easy to change your wireless setup so you can be back to optimum speed. However, Wi-Fi professionals may find its features to be lacking. For everyone else though, it’s small, powerful, and easy-to-use.

Interface and Features

InSSIDer is lightweight and works with Windows, MAC, and Android platforms. It works fast without memory leaks, and doesn’t interfere with the wireless settings you have already on your computer.

When you open the UI, you’re greeted with a display of information; including tips and user guide and wireless networks that are nearby. The user guide offers pertinent information about features of the software. Links are also included to view webinars to learn a little more.

The network tab displays real-time information about the networks that are nearby. Little stars will appear next to the network you’re connected to. InSSIDer lets you view what networks in your proximity are using the same channel. If you have a slow connection you can see what channels are open, and switch your network to that channel for better speed and quality in your Internet. A graph is displayed to show the signal strength of each network.

By right-clicking on a network a menu is opened which lets you choose a variety of information you can see including: channel, maximum rate, access point vendor, SSID, signal, and network type.

InSSIDer is a great tool for understanding and tweaking Wi-Fi networks. Its easy to understand, has an easy interface, and a large selection of tutorials. InSSIDer makes it easy to get your Wi-Fi running faster.
